Anderson Creek Golf Club E-News for Monday, March 30, 2009

Dave Hunt & Walt Williams won the Members 9-Hole Game this past Saturday with a 8-under par 64 and a 4 shot victory.   The teams of Marv Houghton & Ken Beam and Ricky White & Larry Jones both shot 68 to tie for 2nd.   Three teams shot 70 to also finish in the money – those teams were Ric Thompson & Roy Haddock, Joe Boyd & Brian McMillan and Jon Hockaday & John Johnson.   The team of Ken Beam, Brian McMillan, Ricky White & Nathan Phillips won the regular members game with Roy Haddock, Marv Houghton, Dave Hunt and Paul Dummitt all winning a $35 skin.

Upcoming Member Activites – Saturday, April 4th will be a regular members game and April 11th will be a beat the Pro event.   Sign up sheets are in the pro shop for all mermbers events.

New Ping and Callaway equipment has arrived for the spring and we remind you that all members recieve a 15% discount on all golf equipment purchases.

All winter clothing is currently marked down – some as much as 45% off!!!!

We remind you that our Thursday night dinners are still rolling along and we encourage you to call for reservations.

FORECLOSURE FACTS

> Nationally, January foreclosure filings decreased 10 percent compared to the previous month.

> In January, the number of foreclosures occurring in N.C. decreased 29.3 percent when compared to January 2008. Nationally, foreclosure rates were 18 percent higher in January 2009.

> North Carolina continues to descend in the official ranking of foreclosure rates, and is 33rd nationally.

> Four states – Nevada, Arizona, California and Florida – represented 53 percent of the 274,399 foreclosures in the U.S. in January.

ECONOMY

> North Carolina is consistently at the forefront of affordable housing. Most recently, Cornelius was named one of the most affordable suburbs in the country. Fayetteville and Rocky Mount were both recognized for high price appreciations.

> In 2008, North Carolina welcomed the most newcomers (versus loss of residents) of any state, according to moving services website Relocation.com. For every 100 people leaving, 180 moved in.

HOMEOWNERSHIP

> In February, Gov. Bev Perdue signed an authorization that could save N.C. homebuyers more than $30 million.

> The National Association of REALTORS ® estimates the impact of the stimulus package and lower interest rates on the housing market to be about 900,000 additional home sales in 2009 compared to conditions before the stimulus package.

> Homes were more affordable in December 2008 than at any other point since the National Association of REALTORS ® began its housing affordability index in 1970.

ACC POA Sports Clinics and Summer Camps For 2009!!!

It’s never too early to start planning for the summer!  We are excited to offer Tennis, Soccer, Swimming and Golf for children of all ages, right in your own backyard!

TENNIS AND SOCCER:  The POA has partnered with RDU Tennis and RDU Soccer to offer instructional clinics and camps at Anderson Creek Club.  More information and online registration is available at: www.rdusoccer.net and www.rdutennis.net

CLINICS – Saturday, April 18th The fee for each one-hour clinic is $10 per person.  This is a great way to introduce your child to the sport and meet the staff so that you may determine his/her interest level in our summer camps.
